But after moving to Korea, I heard about 소개팅's, which, as almost all people in Korea
know, is like a sort of group blind date.
(그런데 한국으로 이사 오고 나서 소개팅에 대해서 들었는데, 한국 사람들은 거의 모두 알고 있듯이, 단체로 하는 소개팅 같은 것이더라고요)
And I think it's a little bit less awkward than the Canadian-style blind date for a couple of reasons.

First of all, most of the people on the date have some kind of connection.

So they have some mutual friends or some mutual activity that they all do where they're connected somehow and they know each other.

And second of all, it's not a one-on-one activity; it's a group activity.

So I think that alone eases a lot of the awkwardness of a one-on-one blind date.
