그동안 받았던 조언 중 가장 도움이 되었던 것은 무엇인가요? (1/2)

The most helpful advice l can think of is fairly simple, and it comes from my dad. 

(지금 생각나는 가장 도움이 됐던 조언은 꽤 단순한데요, 저희 아빠가 해 주신 조언이에요) 

Growing up, he aIways told me, "Do what makes you happy.” 

(자랄 때 아빠가 항상 저한테 말씀하셨어요· “네 자신을 행복하게 해 주는 걸 해라.” 라고요) 

This is pretty common advice for everyone and it seems obvious, but it's helped me a lot over the last few years. 

(누구에게든 꽤 흔한 조언이고 당연한 소리 같지만, 지난 몇 년간 저에게 도움이 많이 되었어요.) 

Up until last year, I worked at the tax office. 

(작년까지 저는 세무서에서 일을 했어요) 

I was there for five years doing the same job every single day. 

(저는 그 곳에서 5년 동안 매일 똑같은 일을 하면서 보냈어요) 

I hated it. 

(그게 싫었어요) 

They paid me good money, it was a secure job and there was plenty of opportunity for progression. 

(급여도 좋았고, 안정적인 직업이었고 승진의 기회도 많았어요) 

But I hated it. 

(그렇지만 싫었어요.) 

I hated being there. 

(그곳에서 일하는 게 싫었어요) 

So with my dad's advice in mind, I quit.

Thc British capital is one of the most heavily polluted cities in Europe, with levels of toxic gases regularly exceeding European Union limits.
